It is rather difficult to find many references to the name Becconsall, so far all that I have found is the following:

Becconsall, meaning ‘burial mound of a man named bekan’was first mentioned in 1208, at that time being known as ‘Bekaneshou’ which is derived from ‘Bekan’ an old Irish name and the old Scandinavian word ‘haugr’.

In Lancashire there is a village called Hesketh with Becconsall, where, dating from 1667, Becconsall Hall has been the family home of the Becconsall’s, Molyneux’s and Hesketh’s. It is thought that there has been a chantry (a place for the singing or chanting of services or masses) existing on the site of the present village church since the early sixteenth century. The original structure, which was probably made of wood, is thought to have been erected by the de Becconsall family, squires of Becconsall Hall.
